Uncommon Feature; The Penned Story

 A story written by the perfect author and published by the best publisher does not need to be rewritten or changed. It is perfect. 

Everybody struggles. We have all had that one thing we continuously fail at. Mine was speaking. Not only did I fight to get words out of my mouth, literally, I also fought to share experiences because of public image. Always being placed on a stool too high for me to reach or come down from. I did try to climb it, but the expectations of people had me committing suicide without me even knowing. I chose to go there. Given an eraser to remove stories written in pen, it just didn't work.

  I stuttered, physically but also mentally knowing the struggle of accepting me to be different. Never had the opportunity to be "normal". I created my own book after realizing I could not erase and change the one God wrote. While ignoring that book I realized that it took too much energy to live a double life. Suffering under the quiet was too much. I was far too lazy for that. Healing comes from being real. It is in opening up that you are made whole. All the pieces have to be present for the jar to be made whole. I had to start featuring the parts of my story that were pushed to the back. I had to burn the book that was written by me, it wasn't that good anyway, and start to believe that God knows what He is doing. He always does. I am who He has made me to be. I had to get rid of the story I had penned to release the ones I had hidden. 

Forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for things you had no control over. Forgive yourself for mistakes made in the past. Wallowing in your mistakes gets you nowhere. Get up. Get going.   

Trust God. He does not make mistakes. Ignoring what He has brought you through and who He has made you to be says you don't trust Him. You are beautiful. Your story is amazing, one of a kind. It cannot be replaced. It is perfect as is because He wrote it perfectly. You are worth it. You are worth it because He paid for it. Like art, the shadows and dark times all come together for an amazing piece. You cannot depend on people to make you feel good or to accept your story. Psalm 139 verse 14 says it perfectly, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. 

 From time to time we experience what Christians call "storms". We go through a time where nothing seems to go as planned. But how many of us actually try to look at the full picture and accept our stories as it is. We cannot change our past and should not allow it to define our future. It helps to build our character but it does not define us. Own your story, be sure of your identity in Christ and unashamed of who are. 

 Your story is unique to you. Own it!
