Love Letters - Hello

Love… the sweetest but most cliché topic known to mankind.
To be very honest, I am tired of hearing about it but it is needed for humans to survive. Dare I say it is one of the basic needs. We often see the ordinary love story on television where a woman bumps into a male, they talk a little, bump in each other again, get serious, have a hiccup then live happily ever after… the end.

Well honey pie, our love story with God is more exciting and thrilling than any romance novel or lifetime movie. A telenovela more describes it. For the next couple of blogs we will be walking through the different stages of our love story as it relates to the different love songs we’ve heard throughout the years.

The only part of a romantic novel that I will agree with is the initial part where both characters meet, "di buk up" stage. Some of us never desired marriage and skipped around the idea of a relationship, not wanting to commit until "wi buk up inna it".  The initial encounter can be quite subtle and nice or dramatic like the "Saul to Paul experience". In that meeting or collision, we often realize that what we never wanted was exactly what was needed.... LOVE. Guess what? God is love.

The unstable part of our relationship with God is us. He never changes and is consistent in all He does. Us on the other hand… wi need help fi mek it. The idea that television and romance novels give,  that is, "the most difficult part of a relationship is hello then everything flows" is a myth. Commitment is a constant choice we make through life.

There are so many mysteries to God that we are to behold and unfold after "Hello". The process of maintaining and staying committed to God includes seeking and unearthing mysteries about God and by extension ourselves. Ouuuuuuu exciting!
