Her eyes, I’ve seen them before but never quite in a light like this. As I look at her, there is something; a light, an unexpressive, unexplainable light that beams off her. Nothing so beautiful, yet so captivating.

His voice.

The raspy tone that soothes my every ache. It’s louder and clearer than everything in the room. I can sense how he feels about me just by his voice.

The room stops, everyone in the shop freezes and for the first time we’ve really stopped to look into each other’s eyes and now we see what was there all along; L.O.V.E. Love.

The shop’s counter becomes an altar and the costumers now our wedding guests. Here we are, really standing to create a match made in heaven, to declare what our hearts have known for so long; fire and oil combined.

I couldn’t help but profess how her eyes reflected something deeper than just mere life.

“The look in your eyes, the bliss. The way they glimmer, a sight I caught hold of and will never relinquish.”

I closed my eyes at that point to remember what I love most about him, only just to say “That time, the first time you held me close, drew me in with your strong gentle arms. It was at that moment I ever truly felt safe. All that was around me no longer mattered.”

Without hesitation, like a rehearsed choir we joined in harmony “It was weird how natural it felt, for everything to disappear in your eyes; in your arms.”

Silence fills the air as we let the words of our hearts simmer into each other’s ears. My hands fit neatly into his as we face each other to say “I knew that I was truly in love for the first time.”

“There is no place I would trade this day for. No time with you was wasted or in vain. Each moment I spent with you was holy; different from all the other days before I met you”

“Can you still feel the wind? The way it molded you to move to its rhythm. I would watch in awe as the sun kissed your skin making you glow. Nothing was more beautiful than you.”

“Today is the day I show the whole world, the heavens and the earth that nothing can separate my love for you.”

“I stand before friends and family to make an unbreakable covenant with you. To tell them that you are the man that my soul has waited for, my compliment.

With our hands intertwined, we turned to complete our vows.

There they were, the rings, these golden circles symbolizing an eternal love. We placed them on each other’s finger.

“I take you to be my wife, my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish. Hereto I pledge my faithfulness.”
